A wide shot of the Civic Centre building in Folkestone.

What is happening in the local community that you think councillors should be investigating (if they’re not already)?

Well, here is your chance to shape our overview and scrutiny committee’s 2024/25 programme. If it is an issue that affects residents across the district, we want to hear from you.

Topics such as the Levelling Up Fund, Southern Water, Operation Brock and the cost of living have been considered in the council chamber in recent years.

Topics do not have to be limited to the council or the service it provides – but cannot include planning applications, licensing matters, housing appeals or disciplinary issues.

Only issues affecting residents across the district can be considered. Those relating to a small area should be raised with ward councillors in the first instance.

Submissions will be assessed by our monitoring officers before being presented at the committee on 23 April and the Annual Meeting of the Council on 8 May.

Want to make a suggestion? The deadline for submissions is 5pm on Friday 23 February.
