We are aware that acronyms and qualification types can be a little confusing, especially when it comes to less well-known levels like the HNC ( Higher National Certificate ) and HND ( Higher National Diploma ). Therefore, we’ve created a straightforward guide outlining these requirements to help you make an informed choice when deciding what to do next. &nbsp,

University stage equivalent&nbsp,

The HNC ( Higher National Certificate ) is a Level 4 vocational qualification, and the HND ( Higher National Diploma ) is a Level 5. Comparing it to a normal, three- time academy training, the HNC is the equivalent of completing the first year of a degree, and the HND, the next. &nbsp, &nbsp,

To make things clearer, we’ve created a stand of credential forms and the amount they correspond to: &nbsp, &nbsp.

Progress to where you want to be&nbsp, &nbsp,

You will have the expertise to move on to skilled labor after earning a HNC/HND. You might be able to take on administrative positions at a higher level in some companies. &nbsp,

You will also have the choice to continue your education by taking an additional year ( or two ) of university to earn a full degree. For instance, graduates who finish our HNC in Construction Management may be accepted for admission to the first year of a full education. &nbsp,

Preparing you for the business &nbsp,

HNCs and HNDs are functional- based skills, providing skills related to your chosen profession. A HNC/HND focuses more on useful skills and the knowledge employers actually want, giving you everything you need to succeed in the workplace, in contrast to universities that usually focus on academia, highlighting the value of research and theory.

What content do these skills serve to study? &nbsp,

This type of certification is ideal for more useful, technical subjects such as Engineering, Construction, Business and Computing. &nbsp,
