A large GMB study has revealed that one in four emergency workers has witnessed a death as a result of delays in the last three years. A further third ( 31 % ) of ambulance workers in the UK have witnessed a death as a result of delays in the past three years. In the past three years, 82 % have experienced verbal abuse, with 33 % suffering.
