In Volunteers Week ( 1- 7 June ) the National Garden Scheme is celebrating its wonderful family of individuals. Without the devoted support of the foundation’s garden entrepreneurs and individuals, the success of the National Garden Scheme and the sizable sums of money it donates to its recipients would not be possible. 3 389 gardens were built for the charity in 2023, and 585 volunteers shared their amazing excitement, knowledge, and compassion, which is at the heart of everything the organization accomplishes.

Eighty one landscapes, including Ramster and Welford Park, have been opening since the donation was founded 1927, and in 2024 three of them, Buckland Lakes, Iford Manor Gardens and Stanway Fountain and Water Garden, level 80 years of opening for the National Garden Scheme. These, and various monument openings, will all be celebrated.

” Whether a backyard opens again or over a number of years every backyard is essential”, says Chairman, Rupert Tyler. We owe a great deal of love to all the gardeners who help them and to all the individuals who work there. Without their unmatched determination and passion, we would not have been able to provide our recipients with £3, 403, 960 in 2023, making us the most important donor of nursing organizations in the UK. And we would like to thank everyone who contributed to making for a lively, inspiring, and enduring neighborhood that gives visitors so much joy and raises so much money for good causes as we approach our hundredth year in 2027.

Volunteers assist with a variety of tasks, including state organizers and treasurers, as well as attention and social media support, all of which help ensure the smooth running of the National Garden Scheme garden openings. Some also donate to individual garden openings and bake cakes.

Some of our garden users stepped up in the charity’s yard in 2024 when Tom Stuart-Smith created his own yard for the organization, which has since opened its own garden for the charity. The contribution of plants from lawn owners, as Tom says, exemplifies the spirit of generosity associated with the charity. &#8221,

One of the wonderful benefits of volunteering for the National Garden Scheme is the opportunity to raise money for the charity at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show ( and other RHS shows ) throughout the year.
