Maidstone River Festival Committee – Temporary Road Closure – Maidstone River Festival – 27th July 2024 (Maidstone District)

Due an event planned to be undertaken by Maidstone River Festival Committee, it will be necessary to close various roads in Maidstone, as detailed below, from 27th July 2024, with estimated completion by 27th July 2024.

The following roads will be closed:

  • A229 Fairmeadow – between the junctions with Stacey’s Street roundabout and High Street, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
  • Earl Street – between the junctions with Pudding Lane and A229 Fairmeadow, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
  • Medway Street – at the junction with A229 Fairmeadow, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
  • St Faiths Street – from outside the Maidstone Museum to the junction with A229 Fairmeadow, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any clockwise through traffic is via B2012 Stacey Street, B2012 Lower Boxley Road, B2012 Well Road, B2012 Holland Road, A249 Albion Place, A249 Ashford Giratory, A249 Wat Tyler Way, A249 Knightrider Street, A229 Mill Street, A229 Bishops Way.

The alternative route for any anti-clockwise through traffic is via A229 Palace Avenue, A229 Lower Stone Street, A249 Mote Road, A249 Wat Tyler Way, A249 Albion Place, B2012 Holland Road, B2012 Well Road, B2012 Lower Boxley Road, B2012 Stacey Street.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

The closures are required for the safety of the public and event personnel to allow the Maidstone River Festival event to be held, event is being held by Maidstone River Festival Committee.
