The Chatham Docks Basin 3 plans by Peel Waters, part of the Peel Group, to redevelop the site into a business and enterprise hub was approved at a special Medway Council planning meeting held last Thursday evening. The Save Chatham Docks campaigners were present at St. George’s Centre before the meeting started.
The plans are on hold:
– Former MP Kelly Tolhurst made a call-in request meaning that the Secretary of State will decide the outcome rather than Medway Council.
Should this be rejected then Medway Council’s approval will take effect.
– The application is subject to an Article 31 direction and therefore cannot be progressed until a new government is formed.
