Staff Varsity: Netball

The Staff Varsity events began with Staff Varsity Netball hosted at the University of Kent Sports Centre. Unfortunately, Canterbury Christ Church pulled out of the fixture late on as they were unable to field a team. Therefore, an exhibition match featuring 13 UKC staff members and 1 CCCU staff member took place to celebrate the launch of the inaugural Staff Varsity events between Kent and CCCU.

In a competitive match that saw some very high-level netball played, the score finished 22-17, between our two teams. A very close game that showcased the amazing pool of talent at UKC. It was brilliant to see our All Active Netball regulars mixing it with some new staff members recruited for this fixture, in what showcased the amazing staff community present at UKC.

It was a great shame that an official fixture could not have been fulfilled but a fixture was still able to take place with great feedback provided by participants. Many thanks to all the amazing men and women who represented the University of Kent and the sole individual who represented Canterbury Christ Church University.
