EKC Broadstairs College recently held an event for local business leaders and members of the Thanet and East Kent Chamber to learn more about their nearest further education college, with the aim of improving and creating relationships with business.

The day consisted of a brief overview of the EKC Group’s strategic direction and offered an insight into our mission, vision and culture as an organisation.

Broadstairs College Principal, Emily Johnson, said: “This event was a wonderful opportunity to show local businesses what we can offer as a college and how further education is preparing the workforce of the future. Our relationships and partnerships with local employers are so important in developing our curriculum and ensuring our students understand the career paths available to them.”

After a short presentation, there was an extensive tour of Broadstairs College – showing off the high-quality facilities for a wide range of vocational subjects. Guests were invited to try a range of activities including experiencing virtual reality in Broadstairs College’s state-of-the-art gaming suite.

The tour was rounded off by a trip to the Group’s own four-star Broadstairs hotel, The Yarrow, to show how the inspirational commercial environment is used to enrich the student experience while remaining fully open to the public.
