After impressing the Executive Head Chef, five talented cooks were given the opportunity to work at a three Michelin-starred London restaurant. &nbsp,

The students were hand-selected from the catering division at EKC Broadstairs College to participate in a week-long work placement at the renowned Sketch restaurant in London. &nbsp,

Executive Head Chef Frederic Don and Daniel Stucki, head chefs of the three Michelin-starred Lecture Room &amp, Library restaurant, invited all five to return on a full-time basis after demonstrating their training in the four restaurants and four bars within Sketch’s Mayfair location. &nbsp,

The students developed their skills during their placement by attending services like breakfast and afternoon tea, as well as receiving an invitation to take part in the development of the Lecture Room &amp, Library’s tasting menu. &nbsp,

Otto Neech, Joseph Rowlstone, Megan Marvier, Joe Carlino, and Georgia Davis were among the students who had the opportunity to try their hand at front-of-house cooking and serving at the most popular restaurant in the world. &nbsp,

Otto remarked,” My favorite part had to be when I was in the three Michelin-starred kitchen: actually seeing the precision that is required and the fluidity with which they work and deliver perfect dishes.” &nbsp,

It’s cool to think that a top Microsoft executive ate something I prepared while I was in that kitchen. ” &nbsp,

They all had the opportunity to sample the tasting menu for themselves at Sketch as a special treat. &nbsp,

Otto remarked,” The attention to detail was insane, and the service played a significant role in the experience.” The wine pairings were ideal, and it was amazing to see so many courses complementing one another. ” &nbsp,

Around you, it felt like a ballet was taking place.

The waiters really helped you understand what you were eating and how each dish was purposefully designed, Megan said, adding that even the most basic things you can imagine were taken to another level. ” &nbsp,

Joseph remarked,” Watching the service was mesmerizing; it felt like a ballet was playing out all around you.” Everyone has set tasks, including setting different plates down at specific times, and it flowed amazingly, almost to the point where you did n’t notice it because it was so smooth. &nbsp,

The waiters were present but not seen or heard unless they were describing the dishes, so it was truly the gold standard. They paid close attention, even remembering who had still or sparkling water on the table and when to refill it. None of us had ever had food or service of such a high caliber before. &nbsp,

Natalie Stone, the Professional Industries ‘ Industry Liaison Officer at EKC Broadstairs College, put in a lot of effort and dedication to secure the placements and job offers. &nbsp,

She remarked,” We were extremely fortunate to have been given not one, but five opportunities for the students, and we’re extremely proud that they all performed well enough to be offered jobs.” &nbsp,

” The students involved told me that it’s like experiencing a completely new world, and even though it was difficult work, it inspired them to strive for more in both their studies and future careers.” Amazingly, Sketch will offer more work placements the following year, so this is only the start of this exciting partnership with them. &nbsp,

Natalie and Sketch deserve all the praise in the world for making this happen, Megan continued. It was a once-in-a-lifetime chance that will greatly advance my career. ” &nbsp,

” Broadstairs College has been essential in giving me the skills needed to approach the placement with confidence, and I’d like to thank Natalie and Sketch for giving us the chance to experience life in such a renowned kitchen,” said Joseph. &nbsp,

” To me and to all of us who went, being offered a job on top of that means the absolute world.” It is incredible that Sketch would be so kind as to offer more placements in the future, and it will give so many aspiring chefs the chance to come.

” I am incredibly proud to receive such wonderful feedback following our student’s work placement,” said Emily Johnson, principal of EKC Broadstairs College. We work hard to provide more comprehensive experiences that inspire aspirations, and I want to thank Sketch for giving these students the chance to do so and for the job that followed. &nbsp,

” I’m excited about the opportunity that awaits them and I look forward to following the careers of these students.” ” &nbsp,
