Dreamland has informed us of its decision not to accept the £4 million allotted from the Margate Town Deal. This comes after LN-Gaiety recently purchased Sands Heritage Ltd.
A decision regarding how this sum will be distributed will now be required. By the March 2026 deadline, we are dedicated to making sure that approved Margate Town Deal projects benefit from this funding.
The first step will be to ask the government for clarification on what is feasible. It should be noted that a new project that does not already have government approval through the Margate Town Investment Plan cannot receive the funding. The outputs, such as jobs and the renovation of historic buildings, will still need to be met even if this funding is reallocated.
At a meeting on Thursday, February 29, Cabinet members will take note of the report that will provide an update on the situation.  ,
