It’s crucial to abide by the Countryside Code when going out exploring in the countryside. This guide will guide you through nature whether you’re in the city, along the coast, or in a city park. According to Natural England research, 80 % of kids want to do more to protect the environment and become more knowledgeable about the Countryside Code.

Avoid using the Sheep’s Guide for the Countryside Code:

Bring your litter inside.

Take your trash and food waste home, use public trash cans, or recycle if you can, and remember to bring a bag with you. Litter can be harmful to wildlife and livestock and ruins the beauty of the countryside.

As soon as you see gates, leave them.

Bin it and bag it.

Always clean up your dog’s poop because it can make people, animals, and wildlife ill. You should take it home and use your own trash can if you ca n’t find a public one.

No igniting flames

Be cautious around cigarettes and naked flames. Use only BBQs where the signs say they are permitted. Always extinguish your BBQ, ensure that the ashes are cold, and dispose of them properly. Fires can be just as destructive to people and property as they are to wildlife and habitats.
