On Thursday, June 6th, between 9:05 and 9:30am, our society did observe the Goudhurst War Memorial’s celebration of D-Day, which is celebrated 80 years old.

This is a shift from earlier mentions of the observance beginning at 9:30 am. &nbsp, This is in reality when it will be ending.

Between 6 and 12 June, a brief company will be held followed by the ringing of church bells ( how many people knew the end of Europe’s rule had come to an end ) and the raising of memorial flags at St Mary’s, Goudhurst, Kilndown, and Curtisden Green.

Bells will also be rung at Lamberhurst ( 6: 30pm ) and Christ Church, Kilndown ( 7: 30pm ) on 6 June.
