  1. Zog coloring contest

Colour your way to victory in Forestry England’s Zog coloring contest: Win a Zog Prize Bundle! Pick up a colouring sheet from Bedgebury National Pinetum and Forest and get creative, feel free to be as colourful and arty as you like! Let your imagination run wild and make Zog roar-some with your unique style.

  1. Activity sheet for a tree safari

Let your curiosity lead you on your quest to learn the origins of some of Bedgebury’s magnificent trees. Learn how to read tree labels, determine a tree’s country of origin, and then color your tree safari explorers map. available from the Visitor Center office from August 1 through September 3 ( 9.30 am to 3.30 pm ).

  1. Hands-on-cones learning activities

The Learning team will visit the Shipwreck play area on Tuesdays in August to learn more about cones. Explore these fascinating natural treasures, discover their well-kept secrets, and discover more about them from 11 am to 3 pm.

  1. sculptures of gruffes

Among the trees are six sizable wooden Gruffalo sculptures. The grizzly bears, fox, mouse, snake, squirrel, and owl are dispersed throughout the pinetum in search of prey.

Before you set out on your adventure, it’s a good idea to download our travel guide or print out the map at the visitor center. In order for you to learn more about Bedgebury’s wildlife while you are exploring, the guide introduces the characters ‘ real-life animals and the locations where they live ( habitats ).

 

  1. Earth Photo display

The Bedgebury Pinetum Earth Photo display will display 30 of the 50 final shortlisted entries by 55  photographers and filmmaker, allowing visitors to view the stunning images in a beautiful forest setting. They include a dramatic image by award winner Filippo Ferraro of olive trees ablaze in southern Italy, their sculptural silhouettes lit up by flames, showing the vulnerability of the olive groves and the livelihoods they support.

  1. Go ape

Built for the entire family, this is the pinnacle of tree-top exploration featuring shaky bridges, challenging crossing, and an amazing zip wire finale in the breathtaking surroundings of Kent’s arboretum, Bedgebury National Pinethum.

 

  1. The Zog Trail

Before beginning the trail, purchase a Zog trail activity pack for just £4 to enjoy your forest adventure’s many fun activities. By donning a pair of wings and completing entertaining challenges to gather golden stars, kids can channel their inner Zog. In order to solve a word puzzle, they can also pop on the magic glasses and search for hidden letters. When they get to the trail’s end, they finish rubbing crayons to earn their certificate and snap a photo with Zog!

There is also a brand-new, free-to-download augmented reality app called” Zog: A Forest Adventure” to supplement the trail and advance your dragon training. A roar-ometer, a dance challenge, and the chance to become Zog are among the many bonus activities the app offers.

  1. Summer camps run by the Kent High Weald Partnership

The well-liked Forest School-inspired Summer Camp at Bedgebury Pinetum, sponsored by Kent High Weald Partnership, is returning for another enjoyable summer. Send the kids off on a day of adventure filled with den construction, fire lighting, whittling, woodland crafts, and much more!

The children will enjoy an enriching experience and return home exhausted, filthy, and likely carrying a variety of hand-whittled objects. They will be led by our experienced team of forest school leaders and based among the trees of the National Pinetum.

Join us for our brand-new event at Bedgebury! You can overcome any inhibitions by moving and dancing barefoot among the National Pinetum’s trees in a wild, unrestrained manner.

  1. Cycling

The National Pinetum has it all for you, whether you’re an experienced rider or just want to go for a leisurely cycle. We have a seasoned mountain bike guide who teaches two-hour sessions on general forest fitness, beginner’s classes, and sex groups for women only. If you just want to test out the routes on your own, our on-site cycle shop will help you find the ideal bike. The Bedgebury Forest Cycle Club offers mountain bike coaching for people of all ages and abilities.

We have a 9 km blue and 13 km red route that are completely free if you bring your own bikes. Vehicle admission fees are assessed unless the driver is a Forestry England member.
